As of October 1, 2022, the position of a university professor in the form of a permanent employment contract under private law at the Montanuniversität Leoben according to the Salaried Employees Act is to be filled at the Chair of Petroleum Engineering.
The candidate should be an internationally recognized person who represents the subject "Geoenergy Production Engineering" at the Montanuniversität Leoben in research and teaching. The advertised teaching and research area include the production of geogenic fluids as an energy carrier, the injection of fluids into the subsurface and the required process technology. Topics such as geothermal energy recovery and the geological storage of carbon dioxide and hydrogen are to be focal points.
Requirements for the appointment as a university professor are a completed university degree and a doctorate in an area relevant to the subject. The habilitation or an equivalent scientific qualification is required. Several years of industrial experience is desirable.
The department is involved in international study and research programs worldwide. Further prerequisites are pedagogical and didactic aptitude in the relevant subject area including the application of new media in teaching, qualification as a manager and command of English and German.
Experience in the acquisition and implementation of funded research projects on a national and international level with scientific and industrial cooperation partners is of great importance. Applications for funded research projects are expected.

The classification and remuneration are based on the collective agreement of the universities in the application group A1. In this classification, the collective agreement monthly wage for full-time employment is € 5.321,70 gross (14 x annually). With the appropriate qualification, a higher remuneration is subject to the appointment negotiations.
